We at Cyan Swimming believe that private swim lessons are the superior method for learning how to swim. Students learn in a one-on-one environment under the constant view of an instructor. Students will progress faster and any errors made can be corrected on the spot. Our semi-private swim lessons provide a more cost effective option for families with multiple children or those who want to share their private lessons with family friends.
Each student is unique in the way that they learn how to swim. Some students take to swim lessons well while others need more time. With a one on one learning environment, our instructors can create swim lessons based on the individual needs of the student. As good as private and semi-private lessons are it's the magic of our instructors that creates success. Our experienced and qualified instructors provide customized skill clinic as well as steady progress. With our one-on-one private and one-on-two semi-private swim lesson model, they deliver solid results.
Our baby swim lessons called the Mini 1 and Mini 2 program, is geared towards all little ones ranging from 4 to 35 months of age.
Our Mini 1 program takes little ones from 4 to 15 months old. The class is geared towards kids who have never seen the water before, are terrified of it, or both. Parent and child get into the water together to perform swimming exercises that get your child used to the water. The swimming exercises we'll be working on are designed to not only introduce your child to the water but to establish safe swimming practices that make learning how to swim much easier.
Our Mini 2 program takes everything learned from the Mini 1 and builds upon them. Exercises will last longer, parents will be encouraged to let their kids try to perform them alone, and an emphasis on learning specific techniques will be established. Children who were not in the Mini 1 program will be old enough to understand the techniques being taught and will benefit greatly before beginning private swim lessons.

Growing up I’ve always been the first one in the water and the last one to be dragged out. As someone who has always loved swimming and also has a passion for teaching, being a swim instructor with Cyan is a great opportunity for me and combines two of my favorite things. I’m excited to be able to make a difference in kid’s lives and help them grow into safer and stronger swimmers.
Swimming has been a key part of my life. I've swam for 8 years competitively and still continue to swim competitively. I've swam at regional and state level completions. I enjoy working with all ages and abilities of swimmers. I believe that everyone should have the opportunity to learn and thrive in the water. I want everyone to be able to have the proper skills to remain safe and comfortable in the water.
One of my favorite smells is the invigorating smell of chlorine. Growing up in San Francisco, I began swimming competitively at around age 7, and the smell of chlorine always brings back good memories. I have experience teaching and coaching swimming, both as captain of my high school varsity swim team and as the oldest of 14 cousins. While swimming in high school, I was fortunate enough to have been coached in technique by NCAA champion Chuck Katis as well as NCAA record holder Connor Hoppe. As a swim instructor, I hope to be able to pass on what I have learned about technique and help my swimmers develop their own personal style. I'm looking forward to seeing you in the pool!
I've been swimming ever since I came to the U.S. Swimming has been a big part of my life for more than 12 years and it always will be. It has helped me to stay busy and grow as a person. Now that I don't swim competitively anymore, it doesn't mean I have to stop swimming, but instead I want to help others learn the sport. Swimming is a healthy activity that you can continue for a lifetime. I hope I can help kids to learn how to swim in the safe environment of Cyan Swim Academy. Along the way l make it fun, make sure they also get a little workout, and make new friends.
Growing up in a small town with a fairly large swimming facility meant that a lot of time was spent at the pool. Whether it was taking swimming lessons, watching all the bigger kids swim across the entire pool and wishing that someday I would be able to do that, or practicing my best belly flop off of the diving boards, some of my fondest memories were created around swimming and water.
Fast forward to high school where I swam competitively, and further forward as I became a Swim Instructor at a summer camp on the east coast for many summers.
Getting the opportunity to give swim lessons to babies, children with physical handicaps, as well as 1-on-1 and group lessons was a great learning experience that showed me how impactful helping others succeed and grow can truly be.
I started out swimming at a very young age as a baby and always loved the water. I then continued to peruse my love of the water and take swim classes leading to joining the swim team. Swim team involved practices every other day and many swim meets. Swimming is a great life skill to know and I’m so grateful that I was able to participate in swim team. I enjoy working with a variety of different age groups and skill levels. It is most rewarding for me as an instructor to see my students progress and ultimately assist them in achieving their goals!
Swimming has been a big part of my life ever since I was a kid. I am swimming competitively for my high schools varsity team and I hope to continue my swimming throughout college. I believe it's very important for kids to learn how to feel comfortable in the water but also how to be safe. I enjoy working with children all ages and all abilities.
Ever since I was young, my mom has put me into swimming courses out of her own fear of water. The more I swim, the more I find how therapeutic and freeing the body of water could be. As someone who is dealing with a lot of chronic pain, swimming doesn’t only become a recreational sport for me, but also a therapy for my physical being. I hope I could share the joy of swimming to other people and guide people like my mom to overcome their fear in the water and try to flow with it!
Growing up on an island swimming was second nature. I have had the opportunity to swim competitively all four years of high school. Throughout college, I taught swim lessons to all age ranges from 5 months old babies to adults. I also have coached theswim team in Lincoln, NE. During my summers off of college, I lifeguarded at several lakes. I love teaching swim lessons because swimming is such an essential tool in life. Making everyone feel comfortable and safe in the water.
Having been involved in the swimming world since the age of 12, my passion for the sport is endless. My main goal is to emphasize the importance of safety and to promote muscle memory, discipline, and the proper technique to prevent injury. I have been a swim team coach on the South Snohomish County Dolphins swim team for 3 years. I was also a competitive swimmer on the Seattle University swim team where I engaged in community work and teaching private lessons to children of many ages.
I started competitive swimming when I was four years old. Then I moved to Japan at eight years old and swam competitively for the Navy base at various sites in Japan. In 2006 I moved to Italy and swam competitively for the Navy base all over Europe, achieving recognition as best in the European League for my age group. Then I moved to the U.S. in 2008 and swam competitively for all schools until graduation from Kamiak High School in 2016.
I have been a competitive swimmer for 15 years as a member of a local aquatic club in India and also participated in Asia Pacific international swim meet. I graduated from Kasturba medical college, India.
I believe swimming is the best sport which gives the whole body exercise with minimum injury and is suited for all age groups. To me, swimming is a life skill that every individual should acquire and enjoy.
I like water, a lot. I've been swimming in water for as long I can remember. For over a decade I was a competitive swimmer, with a taste for long distance butterfly and freestyle. Teaching and sharing my passion for swimming is my second love. I've coached all ages and all skill levels for over four years.
"Once more upon the waters! Yet once more. And the waves beneath me as a steed That knows his rider."
I have been swimming my whole life, my parents could never get me out of the water so I decided to become a swim instructor. I have had two years teaching experience.I enjoy seeing my students develop their skills and techniques in the water. I get extremely excited when they exceed my expectations and I encourage students to sometimes reach outside their comfort zone.
I have been surrounded by swimming for as long as I can remember. I swam for a summer league team for several years and have grown up with a multitude of friends who share an infectious passion for the sport. I love working with children and sincerely hope to implement effective water safety into their lives.
How does a guy that never passed the first level of swim lessons become a swim teacher, coach, lifeguard and four-time varsity captain? It started by going right into the local swim team to learn competitive swimming and then a move on to water polo. By the time I graduated high school I had earned seven water polo and swim varsity letters and was a four-time captain. I love the water, so I added experience teaching group swim lessons, private lessons, coaching varsity-level water polo and worked as a certified PADI Divemaster. As you can see, I really like swimming and believe that learning has to be fun. So, I can teach you from the very basics of having a safe and fun time in the water all the way to competition-level proficiency and detailed work on the most intricate parts of your strokes!
